The Osteoporosis Risk Estimator provides an assessment of a user’s risk for osteoporosis. The calculation is based on lifestyle, health history, and age-related factors. The result offers insight into bone health and indicates whether further evaluation may be recommended.

Users are asked questions about:

  • Their age range
  • Biological gender
  • Height and weight for BMI calculation
  • Fractures due to a minor bump or fall
  • Parents who experienced fractures after a minor bump or fall
  • Engagement in weight-bearing exercises
  • Smoking habits
  • Alcohol consumption
  • Calcium intake
  • Vitamin D intake
  • Rheumatoid arthritis condition
  • Corticosteroids intake
  • Sunlight exposure
  • Menopause (for women only)

The user's answers to the different questions will be translated into a point system:
