Personal Life Burnout Calculator

Created by Lead Calculators, Modified on Mon, 29 Sep, 2025 at 12:57 PM by Lead Calculators

The Personal Life Burnout Calculator is adapted from the Copenhagen Burnout Inventory (CBI) with adjustments for clinical relevance. It assesses levels of personal exhaustion and burnout based on recent experiences. Users respond to questions about their personal life by selecting answers that best reflect how often they have encountered these situations within the past 30 days.

The calculator will ask the user the following questions:

  1. Do you have sufficient energy to engage with family and friends during your leisure time?
  2. How frequently do you feel weak and vulnerable to illness?
  3. Do personal obligations leave you feeling burnt out?
  4.  How often do you experience tiredness?
  5. How often are you physically drained?
  6. How often do you feel worn out?
  7. How frequently do you experience emotional exhaustion?
  8. Do you find it challenging to enjoy activities or hobbies you once loved?
  9. How often do you feel overwhelmed by daily responsibilities (e.g., housework, errands, caregiving)?
  10. Do you notice yourself withdrawing from friends or family more than usual?

Default Email Responses

Each burnout level will have its own email responses, and what gets sent to the user depends on the calculated score. The email content can be customized when setting up this calculator to match your messaging better.

Score: 0 points, no burnout signs

You’re showing no signs of personal life burnout at this time. You’re likely feeling grounded, engaged, and emotionally present in your relationships and routines. Keep nurturing what’s working and be mindful of any new stressors that arise.

Score: 1 - 250 points, low burnout

Right now, burnout doesn’t seem to be significantly impacting your personal life. If you’re experiencing stress, it may stem from short-term factors rather than deeper fatigue. Keep prioritizing what supports your well-being and connection with others.

Score: 251 - 500 points, moderate burnout

You’re showing moderate signs of burnout. You might feel a bit less energized, more easily frustrated, or like you're going through the motions more often than usual. This is an ideal time to course-correct—building in rest, reconnecting with people who fuel you, or setting boundaries around what drains you.

Score: 501 - 750 points, high burnout

You’re experiencing high levels of burnout in your personal life. You may feel emotionally worn down, physically tired, or disconnected from the things you used to enjoy. While you may still be functioning, burnout is clearly present and could worsen without attention. Consider what’s draining you and how you can refill your cup.

Score: 751 - 1000 points, severe burnout

Burnout is severely impacting your personal life, making even everyday tasks, relationships, or downtime feel overwhelming. You may feel emotionally and physically depleted. It’s important to prioritize recovery now—whether that means rest, reflection, or support from a professional. Left unchecked, burnout can erode your quality of life and connection with others.
