Similar to the Personal Life Burnout Calculatorthe Work Life Burnout Calculator is also adapted from the Copenhagen Burnout Inventory (CBI) with adjustments for clinical relevance. It assesses levels of work exhaustion and burnout based on recent experiences. Users respond to questions about their work life by selecting answers that best reflect how often they have encountered these situations within the past 30 days.

The user will be asked the following questions:

  1. Do you feel overwhelmed by your work?
  2. Is your work emotionally draining?
  3. Do you feel exhausted at the end of your workday?
  4. Does your work frustrate you?
  5. How often do you think, "I can't handle this anymore"?
  6. Do you find every hour at work to be tiring?
  7. Are you exhausted in the morning at the thought of another workday?
  8. Do you struggle to maintain focus or motivation during work tasks?
  9. Do you feel emotionally detached or indifferent toward your job?
  10. Do you find it difficult to feel a sense of achievement at work?

Each burnout level will have its own email responses, and what gets sent to the user depends on the calculated score. The email content can be customized when setting up this calculator to match your messaging better.

Score: 0 points, no burnout signs

You’re showing no signs of work-related burnout at this time. You likely feel grounded, engaged, and present in your professional responsibilities. Continue nurturing what’s working well and stay aware of any new stressors that may arise.

Score: 1 - 250 points, low burnout

Currently, burnout doesn’t seem to be significantly affecting your work life. If you’re experiencing stress, it may be due to short-term factors rather than deeper fatigue. Keep prioritizing what supports your well-being and professional connections.

Score: 251 - 500 points, moderate burnout

You’re showing moderate signs of work-related burnout. You might feel less energized, more easily frustrated, or like you're just going through the motions more often than usual. This is a good time to make adjustments—such as incorporating rest, reconnecting with supportive colleagues, or setting boundaries around what drains you.

Score: 501 - 750 points, high burnout

You’re experiencing high levels of burnout in your work life. You may feel emotionally worn down, physically tired, or disconnected from tasks you used to enjoy. While you may still be functioning, burnout is clearly present and could worsen without attention. Consider what’s draining you and how you can recharge.

Score: 751 - 1000 points, severe burnout

Burnout is severely impacting your work life, making even routine tasks feel overwhelming. You may feel emotionally and physically depleted. It’s crucial to prioritize recovery now—whether that means taking breaks, reflecting on your workload, or seeking support. Left unchecked, burnout can erode your professional performance and satisfaction.
